Tall Ship Painting

You live a useful life,
Made of many destinations
Reached through paved twin highways,
Of Internet gateways,
All devoid of real journeys.
It’s all about completions:
End, start, success, failure; four ways,
Four pillars to build a meaningless life.

We live lives full of uses
Without any real meaning;
So many nooses
Around our state of being.
While uses sustain the heart,
Only meanings feed the soul.
Between the divided heart
And soul,
Will you find the real part
of you? Will you find this balance,
That we call life; giving the chance?

But do not fool yourself,
Your final destination is getting closer,
A last experience: the death of a lifetime.
But do not fool yourself,
For each journey you did not suffer,
Many experiences: many deaths during your lifetime.

We live lives full of uses
Devoid of any real meaning;
So many nooses
Around our state of being.
Maybe for once, you will forget the destination,
To risk your soul over a last attempt at evasion,
With nothing; waiting at the end of the road,
Just a useless goal imagined with no real method;
And you will hope for a journey of struggles;
And you will hope for a journey of reversals;
Where everything will be new outside of any rehearsals
And where you will get nothing at all for your troubles.

You will do this,
Just to know joy,
Just to know content,
Just to hear yourself.
Finding use; finding meaning
For an undivided heart and soul.
